Tools & Technologies
Microsoft .NET Framework & SQL Server
The majority of my application development has been with the various versions of the .NET Framework and
SQL Server. Utilization of these technologies have proved highly effective in the development of advanced, secure and reliable web applications, desktop applications,
enterprise client / server systems, distributed N-tier applications, services, and other business-critical software
and data solutions.
PDFsharp and MigraDoc Foundation
PDFsharp is an Open Source .NET library for creating and processing PDF. I have used PDFsharp in several automated
reporting application scenarios. The library is stable, versatile, easy to implement and well-documented.
Dialogic, AT&T
The newest version of the TriCom Alert System was developed using the Dialogic Diva API under Microsoft .NET 3.5.
The web-based portion of the system allows users to generate voice from input text. This text-to-speech capability
is provided via the AT&T Natural Voices speech synthesis engine. My comparisons between
Nuance, Microsoft, AT&T and other have shown the AT&T Natural Voices speech synthesis engine to be the most
realistic sounding at this point in time.
Lake of Soft VCX Library
Vibrant Communicator ActiveX (VCX) library is a set of ActiveX controls designed
for developers of audio streaming projects, such as voice chat, web chat,
multi-streaming and similar applications.
Of several similar components I tested, this one provided the highest audio quality and the widest range of configuration options. I am currently using it to drive a custom-developed internet radio / chat application.
Kaed KDTele Tools
The initial releases of the TriCom Alert System were developed using a TAPI-compliant collection of controls
called KDTele Tools. This excellent set of controls integrated well with .NET, and provided effective control of telephone
communication, fax control, audio playback, and wave file manipulation. My experience with the product, its documentation, support
and price were very good.
